Immersive Calligraphies emerged from the intersection of two experiences: first, contemplating life in a pond during a month spent in a nature reserve, with very little contact with other humans; and second, the hypnotic, hallucinatory, and destabilizing effect of wandering through a city that invites limitless consumption, such as Hong Kong.
The work establishes a direct reference to Bruce Nauman’s EAT WAR (1986), proposing a conceptual shift in which the notion of “eating” moves from the threat of war to the contemporary crisis of global warming and the excessive consumption of resources. Through an expanded calligraphic language aligned with the research developed in Immersive Calligraphies, EAT ALL draws on the visual power of scale, color, and luminosity to construct an image of heightened perceptual intensity. At the intersection of form and content, the work introduces a critical dimension that places current models of production and consumption under tension and reflects on the ecological limits of the planet.
